Mary O’Brien began her public lands conservation work in 1981 on alternatives to pesticides after completing a doctorate in pollination biology/botany, but in the four decades since has focused much of her work on public livestock grazing. She currently is Director of Project Eleven Hundred with a goal of ending the permitting of apiaries on BLM and Forest Service lands.
